Summary
The IT & Dev Specialist for Euractiv is a hybrid technical and innovative role, responsible for both the hands-on development and maintenance of digital products (such as websites, plugins, and integrations) and the participation of innovation initiatives that drive the future of journalism, UX and productivity. This role sits at the intersection of technology, editorial and business. It ensures that Euractiv’s products are robust, user-friendly, and aligned with the evolving needs of modern journalism and the other Euractiv businesses.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
Support services
- Analysing and troubleshooting all IT related questions and issues, assisting in the current support services
- Help end users for urgent matters in line with what possible and rights assigned
- Monitoring and maintaining services, servers, databases, and possible other hardware and software
Product development
- Front & back-end analysis, development and testing of our websites. Configuration and web development on WordPress are key.
- Implement functional and user-friendly integrations: plugins, AI features, API’s and 3rd party services to optimize our websites
- Support workflow efficiency of the newsroom by providing automated solutions, not only developing, but also enabling of existing solutions
- Debugging and documenting code to fix errors and improve performance.
Innovation & transformation
- Initiate POC’s and ideation of the product innovation tracks of Euractiv: eg. integration of AI functions, article enhancements
- Propose and discuss new grounds for the future of journalistic platforms: eg. prepare for zero-click, GEO, alternative push strategies and integration of content feeds with Slack or Teams
Collaboration
- Report to IT director and assist him with the product & innovation roadmap
- Maintain good bridges between technical teams (internal, Mediahuis and external vendors), journalists and business stakeholders
- Change management: create buy-in for digital transformation across the organization and provide support & training
